Mission

The Information Technology Services (ITS) Group provides guidance, expertise, and support in applying appropriate information technologies to further the church’s mission in supporting members’ and friends’ personal and spiritual growth and celebration of life.

Purpose

The Information Technology Services (ITS) Group exists to facilitate the integration of appropriate and secure Information Technologies supporting the mission of C3HUU and ITS stakeholders. The ITS Group provides ITS expertise and guidance to ITS stakeholders and those who request ITS Group services in support of sanctioned church activities. The ITS Group Stakeholders include:
  • C3HUU Board
  • Church Council
  • Congregational Administrator
  • Minister and other Staff
  • Committee chairpersons & leaders
  • Other people agreed upon by the Congregational Administrator and ITS Group as ITS Stakeholders
The ITS Group leads or coordinates such activities as:
  • C3HUU Web Services
  • Church Management software
  • Maintenance of a secure IT environment for collection, management, and reporting of sanctioned church activities
  • Technical support for production and electronic distribution of multimedia content in support of sanctioned church activities. Multimedia content may include audio, video, photographs, text, etc.

Responsibilities

The ITS Group:
  • leads planning for installation and maintenance of all software installed on C3HUU owned personal computer or IT Network connected devices.
  • develops and maintains plans for internal networks, both wired and wireless networks
  • coordinates maintenance on all C3HUU owned PCs and Network IT Services equipment
  • annually assesses the state of C3HUU IT Services equipment and integrates plans for upgrades with the annual financial planning.
  • oversees the C3HUU Web presence and consults with C3HUU staff, Committees, Board, and Church Council on electronic communications technologies and methods.
  • accepts Problem Requests and Change Requests and acts to either resolve issues or changes or consults on facilitating Problem and Change resolution from among ITS Stakeholders.
  • The ITS Group Lead, or designee, participates as a member of the Church Council.

Membership

The IT Services Group is headed by the IT Services Lead who reports to the Congregational Administrator. The ITS Services Group Lead acts as lead architect for the IT Services infrastructure at C3HUU. Membership is voluntary, drawn from among members and friends of the church and is open to anyone who is proficient in planning or delivery of IT Services. Members serve at the discretion of the ITS Group Lead and the Congregational Administrator.

Coordination & Meetings

The ITS Group coordinates activities through e-mail, listservers, wikis, and other collaborative IT Services. All volunteers working on the C3HUU web site, wikis, PC support, or network support are adjunct members of the ITS Group and receive information pertinent to fulfilling those roles from the ITS Group Lead. Length of service for ITS Group members is not predetermined. The ITS Lead serves at the discretion of the Congregational Administrator. Electronic fora substitute for formal meetings as much as possible. Participation in regional Non-Profit IT Services support organizations is strongly encouraged in lieu of ITS Group meetings.
